just got back. went to see 'the village' with lance, ross and anna. it was quite a good time. the hanging out that is.
'the village' helped to confirm my theory that if you've seen one m. night shama-whateverhisnameis's movies, you've seen 'em all. it was good and all. kinda thought provoking. had some great camera work and directing in it. but it's basically exactly what'd you expect from one of his films. you end up sitting there looking at your watch just wondering when the big turn around in the plot is going to happen. granted, it's still a decent movie and fun to watch... but... just not anything amazing.
of course i guess it didn't help that i had figured it all out by the first 20-30 min. of the movie--even the harder to figure out aspect. ask me about it if you don't believe me. heh. of course m. night had me fooled until the end in the 6th sense... but that applies to most everyone. back then we didn't know what to expect from one of his films. heh.
anyway, if you like twilight zone type things, or his other movies, or early colonial living, or plots with big twists, or yellow capes, or you hate red berries, or you dig blind redheaded chicks, then go see the movie.
if not... well... whatever. heh. i'm glad i saw it, but it left me with an overwhelming feeling of:
"meh, so what?"
