because YOUR life sucks...

i had one of those dreams last night in which everything just kinds of falls into place; one of those dreams that is so great that you wish it was true but know it can't be. it was one of those dreams that you wake up angry from, because your alarm caused it to end and jolted you back to the real world--the imperfect world. well, that implies that the dream world i was in was perfect, and it wasn't. but it was wonderful all the same.

i would go into the details, but that would just make me look like an angsty, pathetic loser... or maybe just a typical every-man... so i won't. i will say that, towards the end, it did involve some off-road unicycling action. (that was not what made the dream so great, and was, in fact, what made me conciously aware that it was a dream... oh well. still, pretty hardcore if you ask me.)

i finally got to show slc punk! to two of my closest friends who hadn't seen it before. that was good. i love that movie.

end.

1. I got a seasonal job at Circuit City. It's customer service... not exactly the ideal position... but I'll live. Regardless, it's money, and I need money.
2. I hadn't been grocery shopping by myself in a while. I did it this afternoon. Sometimes small, mundane things can bring such good feelings. It makes me feel like I'm living my own life.
3. Yakisoba is good. Also: cheap. Also: fast. Also: sodium.
4. If you don't know my parents, you should. They're better than yours. I'm serious. They continue to amaze me the older I get.
5. Thanksgiving meals at a mediterranian resteraunt are very, very good.
6. I'm very jealous of Michael and the European adventure he is currently enjoying.
7. That being said, reading his posts and forum messages inspires me (at least in little ways) to view things differently here.
8. I really do hope that I'll make it across the Atlantic sometime soon.
9. My dog Boots, who I'd had since I was a young lad in New Orleans, died last Sunday morning. I drove back out to the Mabank with my mom to help bury her that afternoon. It was very somber and sad, but I'm extremly glad that I went out there. She was 15 years old and I think she lived a good life. I hope she always felt loved and I wish that I could have been around more in the later days of her life.
10. The new Bond movie, Casino Royale, is damn good. I think the new Bond (both the actor and the style) is really a step in the right direction. It's different, definately, but I'd actually put it up there with the Bourne movies in terms of quality.
11. I'm starting to practice my clarinet again for a piece that I'm supposed to play with the choir on December 17th. I have a long way to go.
12. Cool girls, as always, are difficult to meet.
13. I've almost felt bad not being able to relate to the pre-finals rush that all of my friends are dealing with. Almost.
14. The Hallelujah chorus is ridiculously amazing. (it just randomed up in my playlist)
15. Speaking of that, my faith has been in an odd place recently. It's become much more intellectual, and consequently less "real." Too many videos on the internet of Richard Dawkins speaking I suppose.
16. Kevin Smith is pretty damn awesome and has become a kind of inspiriation for me these days. His life story seems to have some the same beginnings as mine has had.
17. Ed Brubaker is also an awesome guy. I saw a panel he did on writing at Wizard World: Texas. It's nice to see cool people have cool jobs. (he's a comic book writer for those that dont' know)
18. DOTA is a very addictive game. And it's not even a real game, just a map/mod for WCIII.
19. I've found myself wanting to get in touch with old friends and acquaintances from high school recently. I'm not sure why.
20. I recently found out that I have a step-sister and step-brother that I never knew about. Pretty surreal.
gah, i lose at blogging.
