oh yeah, and i'll blog about camp someday...
just got back. went to see 'the village' with lance, ross and anna. it was quite a good time. the hanging out that is.

'the village' helped to confirm my theory that if you've seen one m. night shama-whateverhisnameis's movies, you've seen 'em all. it was good and all. kinda thought provoking. had some great camera work and directing in it. but it's basically exactly what'd you expect from one of his films. you end up sitting there looking at your watch just wondering when the big turn around in the plot is going to happen. granted, it's still a decent movie and fun to watch... but... just not anything amazing.

of course i guess it didn't help that i had figured it all out by the first 20-30 min. of the movie--even the harder to figure out aspect. ask me about it if you don't believe me. heh. of course m. night had me fooled until the end in the 6th sense... but that applies to most everyone. back then we didn't know what to expect from one of his films. heh.

anyway, if you like twilight zone type things, or his other movies, or early colonial living, or plots with big twists, or yellow capes, or you hate red berries, or you dig blind redheaded chicks, then go see the movie.

if not... well... whatever. heh. i'm glad i saw it, but it left me with an overwhelming feeling of:

"meh, so what?"

i'll blog soon... it's just that when i do it will be a fairly large undertaking (with camp and all) so i really don't feel like it now.

sorry.

mitch hedburg is a genius.

just got back from church camp a bit ago.

i don't wanna be back here.

i still wanna be there.

not that i don't love you guys...  but damn...  camp is so great...

Sunday, July 18, 2004

helped ross buy/build his new computer yesterday.  the things a beast.  w00t.  welcome to my world ross.

i'm now about to head out for church camp.  i'll be gone from today (the 18th) to saturday afternoon (the 24th).  it should be fun, though at the moment i don't want to leave.  come thursday and friday i won't want to leave camp.  heh.  life's a bitch like that.

anyway, don't cry too much because you miss me.  just use that despair and longing as an excuse to buy me presents to give me upon my return.   trust me, it's good therapy.  hehe.

peace out until next week.

terminator 2 is fucking badass.  i had forgotten this.
last night i hung out with phil. we went to burger king. pretty crappy ruler if you ask me.

we then joined up with scott, joey, katie, megan, and morgan at scott's new house. we sat around and talked about retarded crap. it was exciting. we were gonna play risk, but that fell apart pretty quickly (i.e. it never got started).

yesterday was fun.

it consisted, almost entirely, of a lan party at stevo's. the lan was for our q3 ctf team to practice for the upcoming tourney at quakecon. it's gonna rock. we will do pretty well i think.

lots of quake III. oh god the q3.

so yeah, that's about it.

been playing trivia in irc lately. so many useless facts. it's fun.

check the photo blog for something comical relating to irc trivia playing. if it dosen't mean anything to you that's ok. heh. if it does... well.. then... OMFG!

Monday, July 12, 2004

just woke up from a nap. two days of getting up early enough to get to UTD at 8 am was not fun. heh.

anyway, got registered for classes this morning. i also got my comet card (i.d. card). yay. i feel that, now, i can officially tell high school to go fuck itself once and for all!

Schedule:
Monday/Wenesday/Friday
- Exploration of the Humanities-1301 10:00-10:50 AM (required core class)
- Survey American History-1301 11:00-11:50 AM (required class, but it's the collegium V honors version)
- And on Mondays only: Computer Imaging-2382 12:30-3:15 PM (adobe photoshop class, towards my art & tech major)

Tuesday/Thursday
- Government-2301 12:30-1:45 PM (required core class)
- Rhet-1101 2:00-3:15 PM (it's a freshman study habit success type class, but i'm in the collegium V version)

and that's it. 13 hours. badass, i must say.

oh, and i got my ap scores:
English Lit/Comp 4
Env. Science 4 (haha, probably some of my best bs'ing ever)
Physics B 4

good times. that'll give me a few more hours of credit, and i think the physics test will take care of my lab science requirement. w00t. less crap to deal with.

college is gonna rock. i can't wait to move in and get started.

just got back from seeing fahrenheit 9/11 with lance. very good movie. funny thing though... it didn't change any of my opinions about president bush... hehe...

yeah, i would reccomend you see it. of course, it's biased (got i hate people who say this as if they were suprised after they saw the movie...), but even if you just take the facts and ignore the commentary and the editing it's a pretty convincing arguement.

of course, i didn't need to hear it.

i don't understand how anyone can support our going into iraq, maybe when the whole thing first started, but not now. yes, support our boys (and girls) overseas, but not this war that should never have been started...

if you disagree, or have a good reason we should be in iraq, feel free to comment. i'd be very interested in hearing it. i won't make fun of you or think any less of you*... probably :)... i may debate with you, but it'd be nice to hear from the other end of the spectrum.

*unless, of course, you give a stupid reason (ex: "he's our president and it's a time of war so we should support him no matter what")...

Monday, July 05, 2004

yeah, blogger has been really fucked up today. if you read the post below before now (1:05 am july 5th) it was probably full of errors and all kinds of fun stuff.

anyway... why is blogger being so retarded all of a sudden?
*** edit (added after this was written)***
i really hope that all this ranting i've been doing lately isn't alienating people from my blog. that would really make me sad. if it's getting on your nerves or something let me know.. i'll try to tone it down a bit. heh. thanks for your cooperation.
*** /edit ***

YAY. FOURTH OF JULY! YAY. GO AMERICA. BUT MOST OF ALL GO PRESIDENT BUSH!!! YAY. YOU ARE THE BEST, PRESIDENT BUSH. I SINCERELY WISH YOU GET RE-ELECTED THIS NOVEMBER SO YOU CAN KEEP LEADING OUR COUNTRY INTO THE FUTURE.

ugh... all this patriotic crap makes me sick.

now don't get me wrong, i like america. in fact, i'm quite fond of it. america is one of the few good places to live in this world. i enjoy many great freedoms that i'm quite thankful for. oh, and don't even try to lecture me about supporting our troops. i do, i really hope they all get home safe and i am very thankful that they are willing to do what they do to defend me. i honestly have no problem with them at all (unless they do things like at the abu ghraib prison... in which case they are fucking bastards). i pray that they will be safe while overseas.

but damn... i mean... (and this may be a little extreme) at least in third world countries the people there know that they're being oppressed.

heh. my punk/anarchic load of bullshit even makes me laugh sometimes...

anyway, nothing i can do about the country. bush is still president for now. i really do hope that enough people will actually vote to unseat dubbya. it breaks my heart that the great majority of those patriotic people, the ones that tell me i should "leave the country if i don't like it" (and i have been told this numerous times) don't even get out there and vote. ...and i'm the hypocrite for "abusing" my freedom of speech. i guarantee you that i'll be in that voting booth when the time rolls around.

and you should probably vote for kerry. yeah, i know, he's a tard. i don't really like him all that much... but he's pretty much the only one who could beat bush because of the ridiculous two party system... oh yeah, and the always-fun "you can't be president unless you are already rich and powerful" system... i would love to vote for an independant canidate that more fits my ideals and beliefs, but that would be a waste of a vote. and i don't think the principle of the matter can out weigh the reality.

and another "now don't get me wrong"... the country won't miraculously get much better if kerry becomes president. in fact, it'll probably stay about the same, he might make a few improvements, though it isn't likely. but... the fact remains: george w. bush has done nothing but drag us into a war that shouldn't have been fought in the first place, and put in to place policies that do nothing but help those in power to stay in power, those with wealth to keep their wealth, and those at the top to rise even further above. yes, he has had some positive impact on the nation, but it does not outweigh the harm he has done to the wonderful people of this great nation.

...you know that pisses me off? the patriot act pisses me off... anyway, moving on...

yeah, i guess all of this is a bit extreme... but i mean... come on!

of course, it ain't bush's fault that our economic system of capitalism has completely superseded our governmental system of democracy, that happened long ago.
...
a government should exist for more than just self-perpetuation. it's purpose should be to improve the quality of life for all people, not to help those in power retain that power.

whoa...

i just realized that my blog has changed a whole lot over the past couple of days. wow. kinda wierd. dunno what the deal is.

anyway, back to the real world, enough of that bullshit.

went to see fireworks up at the farmers branch historical park last night. pictures will be posted. other than that i didn't do much. ran some errands with my mother. took care of some cats owned by a friend of mine that's out of town. yep, exciting.

just added some more folks to the links, figured i'd try to add every one i knew of. if yours isn't on there don't feel bad, you just probably weren't online at the time i did it and i didn't have the link.

i'd like to point out that the links fully incorporate blogs xangas and live journals. will's blog is a non-discriminatory blog. everyone is welcome.

i dled years 1963-66 of the original spiderman comic last night. i've just about got done with the first year. it's awesome. it's about time i actually read about how it all got started. i've known the story and most all of the detail for quite some time, but now i have first hand knowledge.

and it feels good.

heh.

it feels good to do something productive. (oh god the light-hearted sarcasm)

Friday, July 02, 2004

haven't blogged in a while. not much happening. been sitting around. gaming. running errands. that's about it.

tonight i went to see spiderman 2 again with scott and phil. god damn that's a good movie.

on a related note, mary jane is mad hot. mad. hot. i suppose that makes kirsten dunst hot be default, but whatever... heh...

there should be more mary janes in the real world... oh, and more comic book characters in general.

someday i'm gonna be bitten by a radioactive spider... someday...
